I recently overhead a conversation (okay, honestly I was ear-hustling) among members of another sorority about how they are "often imitated but never duplicated" 🙄
It quickly reminded me how important it is for DELTAS to know DELTA history!
The Howard University Journal article - the design on our exclusive tee - is just one piece of our rich history.
The context of that article is this: during that time at Howard University, the earlier organization had no legal entity, was unincorporated, and therefore had neither charter nor power to form other chapters and function as a real Sorority.
Until our Founders, all members of the former organization, perfected the reorganization by unanimous approval, there was no "true sorority" on campus, inasmuch as the initial members of the prior organization had all graduated and were no longer students at Howard. (Remember, there were no graduate or alumnae chapters at that time.)
